Not really a surprize. The sadness in this story is that would security engineers not have found the Sony rootkit, it is likely that no computer attack based on the rootkit would have being written for long. Like security patches for Windows often cause hacker to analyze the issue, explain its internal, and later cracker write viruses based on the explanation, attacking unpatched computers.
