Fiberglass blow-out

And that is only the first trip out of three. 8 bags of compact fiberglass insulation, although I ended up using only six of them. The ‘Atticat’ system for blowing insulation is sure pretty clean, efficient and easy to use for attics. It is also advertised for blowing insulation into walls. Well, that on the contrary ended up been messy, troublesome and difficult. The blown fiberglass gets quickly stuck on any obstacle, even single electrical wires, or just in front of the hole as the 4 inches of depth are less than ideal for the bursts of fiber. Plus for some odd reason the walls in our garage have an horizontal stud most of the way, so that instead of been able to blow it all from the top I had to drill additional holes mid-way. After 5 or 6 hours of battle, the walls are insulated. Still, there is about a hundred holes to patch now, and three car trips to Homedepot to return the rental machine.
