I’ve been repeatedly disappointed by the white wines of our region. A while back I bought this 2007 indian wells Merlot columbia valley Chateau Ste Michelle and left it in the basement to age. This week I needed some wine for cooking and decided it was time to open this one up and see what it was worth. I was surprized to find that actually it may be a bit wastefull to use it just for cooking. Xiaobei liked it as well. Unfortunately the wine seems to be sold out, except for a wine seller in new york who’s listing label doesn’t match the actual bottle, and whose shipping cost as higher than the price of the bottle. So it seems I should get a few more bottle from newer vintage of this locally, although 2007 was according to online reviews the best year for this Merlot.
Oh, and a warning notes for shoppers: there is also a Merlot columbia valley Chateau Ste Michelle that is not the indian wells Merlot columbia valley Chateau Ste Michelle, at a significantly smaller price, but likely a very different taste.
