That’s a former boss I’m glad to see go. I’m however not too sure how his replacement, Julie Larson-Green, will do. She’s at core an UI person. Windows 8 UI needs much finishing work for the next iteration of Windows – she surely will get that done. But can she lead repairing relationships with the market, re-ignite the Windows hardware community that has been much ignored by Microsoft after the Vista debacle? Isolating the Eco-system to a separate organization within Windows under Michael Angiulo has succesfully shielded the engineering teams from the partners so they may focus on fixing Windows in release 7. Was that still warranted, or more importantly, healthy to do in release 8?
