I learned a new acronym and term today, DUI for Distributed User Interface.
The idea is that for collaboration in tools such as Microsoft Lync (the enterprise-focused Skype with online meeting capabilities) the user interface is no longer presented and controlled by a single user but to and by multiple users in distributed computer systems.
The acronym was poorly chosen in my opinion, given the common understanding of DUI as Driving Under the Influence. Given the potential for chaos of a user interface controlled by multiple people at once, I can already hear the puns about DUI.
Sorry, no page on Wikipedia yet for Distributed User Interface.
